By his own definition a modern-day renaissance man, Pat Downey's penchant for fun and adventure has afforded him many opportunities to make good old-fashioned mistakes and mishaps that will be family lore of bystanders for generations to come.
He’s had thirty jobs in his lifetime. Most notably, he’s been a ticket taker, a chauffeur to the stars, gas pump nozzle tester, shampoo bottle proofreader, teacher, and dandelion puller. He believes his unique career path may have had interesting, if not nonsensical, twists and turns, but they’re what made his life interesting- teaching him to take nothing for granted, pay in cash, and keep his resume current.
When he’s not writing, working for the weekend, or creating more fodder for his next book, Pat can be found hiking moderate terrain, perusing the welding aisle of Harbor Freight Tools, restoring his vintage '03 minivan, or otherwise enjoying life with his wife and five children in his southern Indiana home.
